In Japanese, the Kanji for 'mountain' is 山, pronounced 'YAMA'.

Just as a mountain signifies Prosperity and Elevated Goals in Insights, our practice aims to discover prosperity in existence while maintaining elevated goals.

Guided by the metaphor of the mountain, we continue to design with an understanding of the present and an anticipation of the future.

I have vivid memories of my childhood, rushing home after exams to create abstract portraits of unique characters with unconventional characteristics. Despite the demands of regular school days, I found time to collect seasonal fruits and leaves from my grandma's backyard to craft jewelry for my brother, and to sculpt paper mache objects from my grandfather's newspapers. While I knew it had to be in the creative field, my mom pushed me towards Interior design.
Design school taught me a lot about technical exercise, teamwork, and most importantly emotional resilience towards your work so you can start over a million times if it comes to it. As for my true source of inspiration and storytelling, it stems from my natural affinity for art. Post-design school I worked under some wonderful boss women in the industry, who taught me a great deal of what I know today.

Eventually, when professionally and personally I was craving something more, I wanted to put my work out there, and eventually, the time came in 2023, and thus began YAMA DESIGN.
